Research Environment

At Bournemouth University our research environment supports the research capacity and capability of staff at all stages of their career. Our research culture is ambitious, inclusive and innovative, focusing in particular on the societal impact of our research and the co-creation of new knowledge with our students.

Our research is aligned around eight core, inter-disciplinary research themes and we have a number of vibrant and interactive centres and institutes focusing on specific areas of research.

We ensure the highest quality of research by supporting our staff with clear research policies (including research ethics), development opportunities and expert support. We hold the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research Award in acknowledgement of our success to date and future strategy to align our policy and practice to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.

We have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including a crime scene training centre, 3D printing facilities and a motion capture suite. Read more about our equipment and facilities here: http://research.bournemouth.ac.uk/research-concordat/research-equipment-facilities/

Our researchers share information and make connections using our award-winning BU Research Blog.
