The Migrant & Refugee Leisure & Wellbeing project team are involved with the development of co-created, socially engaged arts events involving project partners and Bournemouth University students.
These events are planned to take place during Bournemouth and Poole City of Sanctuary Refugee Week (June 19 – 25), b-side Outpost Art Festival and the BU Festival of Learning. Our research examines the role of leisure spaces and practices, particularly socially engaged art, in building individual and community resilience and wellbeing within migrant and refugee communities in Bournemouth and wider Dorset. We will be looking to facilitate the attendance of disadvantaged communities to the Festival of Learning on 8 July.
