DNA Detectives interactive lecture
Join the DNA Detective team in an interactive lecture on how to solve a mystery using DNA barcoding. Either a crime that can be solved by pollen evidence or discovering what a wolf has been eating from its poo. DNA barcoding involves using short sections of DNA to identify which species an organism belongs to. Learn about DNA, what it can tell us and how we can use it as a tool to understand the world around us. This event is most suited to 10-15 year-olds or anyone wanting a gentle introduction into DNA technology.
The talk will be given by Dr Liz Franklin with support from Dr Caitlin Potter and their team of Student DNA Detectives, Jan Chwalek, Sarah Deans, Abigail Shearer and Maisie Parton.
Media Designed by the DNA Detectives Marketing Team- Jordan Hazell, Danielle Horsley, Zoe Franklin and Dr Jenny Alexander.
