Supply of conventional protein, such as meat and fish, is under strain as the world supports a growing population. In order to feed the world we must be open to alternative forms of food – including bugs!
This BU Festival of Learning 2014 event asked attendees to challenge their cultural palate and gastronomic sensibilities by consuming unconventional foods, which are likely to form a large proportion of the food chain in the future.
There was an interesting debate on sustainable food and the ethics behind that, followed by sampling of snails, squirrel and earth worms.
This event was run by BU’s Andy Boer.
