The final event of the AHRC funded Reading on Screen project takes place in a few weeks’ time. An exhibition of photographs from project workshops held at Bournemouth, Brighton and Sheffield will be on display, followed by a screening of some of the digital stories produced, introduced by the storytellers themselves. This will be the first time that the storytellers from the three workshops will meet and we are looking forward to hearing more about their experiences and how taking part in the project has benefited them.
The Reading on Screen project invites participants to reflect on how their reading is changing in the digital age through creating short films combining their voices and narration with images and sound. The stories are featured on the project website, along with comments from website visitors. Also on the website is a short film we made about the Bournemouth workshop, and we are currently editing two more films about what went on in Brighton and Sheffield. We will also be producing a film about the event in December, and after the screening the exhibition will move to the Jubilee library in Brighton. If anyone from BU is interested in attending, we may have some spare seats on our mini coach, so please contact Bronwen Thomas, the project PI for more info.
