Understanding panic attacks

Professor Roger Baker is a clinical psychologist and researcher who has carried out extensive research into emotional processing.  This includes work to help people overcome trauma and understand panic attacks.  Around 10% of people will experience a panic attack in their lives and understanding what’s happening can help in coping with and overcoming them.  Below he explains what happens during a panic attack and why it’s not a mental illness.
