Research website wins award

BU’s research website – launched in 2014 – has won ‘Best Research Website’ in the international eduStyle Awards.  The website won in both the People’s Choice and Judged Award.

The awards celebrate the best work in college and university websites.  They recognise the most innovative and exciting developments in key areas of higher education web development.

BU was the only UK university to be shortlisted in this category, and fought off competition from MIT, Yale University and Columbia University.

Professor John Fletcher, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Bournemouth University said, “Research excellence is at the heart of Bournemouth University’s mission. We endeavour to produce research which responds to societal need, and is of benefit to society.

Through our innovative and engaging research website, we are able to bring our research to life for thousands of readers across the world; from businesses to peer researchers, to policy makers and interested members of the public.

I am extremely pleased that our research website was recognised as excellent not only by the panel of eduStyle judges, but also by members of the public. It shows that BU’s research is engaging both peers within the academic world, and also people who stand to benefit from its findings.”
